The Tennessee Teardrop is a wonderful ornamental, heirloom Chile pepper from Tennessee. A great option for adding a bit of drama to your landscaping. Displaying different colored fruits at various stages of maturity, the Tennessee Teardrop is a beautiful eye-catcher.

Ornamental peppers have been bred to be just that—ornamental. They are edible, but they haven’t exactly been bred for taste. Their heat is often surprisingly intense and, while peppery in flavor, there’s often not a lot of nuance to the flavor. Still – these peppers can add a color pop to the plate or in a fresh salsa.

These bushy plants reach around 24 – 30 inches in height and produce a large number of upright-growing, triangular-shaped, half inch to one inch fruits, that ripen from pale green to yellow, then purple and finally red. The plant has green stems, green leaves, and white flowers.
